Paint Your Heart & Soul is an annual online art experience bringing together a wonderful group of artists from around the world.
Throughout the program, each instructor shares a different artistic perspective, technique and way of working.
What I love about this format is the opportunity to step outside our familiar ways of creating, discover new approaches and be inspired by artists we might otherwise never encounter.

MY MAIN LESSON: An Invitation to …
Slow down and truly see
A World within
We will explore a close-up fragment of a ROSE – a quiet, intimate view into nature’s detail.
Using acrylic paint, we begin with a monochrome underpainting.
This foundation allows us to truly observe light and shadow, and to learn how to see values – light and dark – with clarity and intention.
We learn to look more deeply than a fleeting glance – to slow down, to observe, and to recognize the complete beauty within a single subject.
In this way, we are not simply painting a flower. We are creating an emotional landscape – full of movement, depth, and feeling.
A dialogue between light, color, and space.
We work with the fundamental elements of painting: light and shadow.
We explore the principle of chiaroscuro – the interplay of light and darkness that creates depth, volume, and presence.
We begin with an underpainting.
At this stage, color is not important yet.
What matters is learning to truly see.
For the underpainting, I work exclusively with
black and white acrylic paint.
After the underpainting has dried, we begin to bring colour to the flower — layer by layer. Transparent glazes overlap and interact, gradually building colour while allowing the layers beneath to remain part of the painting.

WORKING WITH REAL FLOWERS
The first practical section focuses on working with real flowers—specifically those that have already passed their peak.
Rather than striving perfection, the emphasis is on observing transformation and experiencing impermanence as something alive and expressive in a conscious and intentional way..
You are invited to experiment with petals and plant fragments, developing intuitive compositions. The focus is not on a fixed outcome, but on the process itself: shapes can be repeated, rotated, and rearranged, allowing symmetry to emerge naturally without being forced.
The course encourages a mindful, almost meditative way of working, where even the smallest changes are noticed and a sense of rhythm and interplay develops. Fleeting moments …
WHEN COLORS DANCE
THE MAGIC OF KALAIDOSCOPIC PATTERNS
Part 2 introduces a shift from organic material to paper-based exploration.
Using photographs of flowers, we create fragments and recombine them into kaleidoscopic patterns.
It is an invitation to experiment, play with repetition and symmetry, and discover how familiar flowers can become something completely new.
