When the tulips and peonies in the vase wither and drop their leaves, it always makes me a bit melancholic. What to do with all those fallen petals? There is still a certain beauty and fascination in them. And how wonderful they still feel: not quite smooth anymore but still somehow velvety … slightly cool …

The idea of driving something that is already passing away to create something beautiful again by giving it a new order inevitably led me to mandalas.

How come mandalas have such a strong attraction on us?!

There is this pull that inevitably pulls our eyes to the center – who knows, maybe to our own deep self, our own center.
