About

MY NAME IS ANTJE LIEBSCHER. I’VE BEEN PAINTING SINCE MY EARLIEST CHILDHOOD. I CAN’T HELP MYSELF. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY MOTIVATION TO CREATE SOMETHING THAT PLEASES EYES, HEART AND SOUL.

Depending on my mood, I work in very different ways. My great passion is flowers. My flower paintings are a tribute to nature and life. They allow a deep look into the flower sometimes deep to the bottom. I try to capture their beauty as faithfully as possible, albeit on a much larger scale.

But I also love the very free and above all liberating process of intuitive painting and collage.

There are no limits to my imagination and I can completely let go and be free of conventions and rules.

And then there are my little doodles, which fill the pages of small journals night after night and form a wonderful end to the day for me. Without much effort … just my journal, a pencil and I… very comfortable from the sofa. Almost unnoticed, entire primeval forests emerge from fantastic trees and plants populated by small creatures.

I AM CREATIVE
TO SHOW MY SOUL
THAT I AM LISTENING

Miracles

Time to
think back

I remember painting for hours as a child … deeply immersed in my own imaginary world … with fabulous creatures and enchanted gardens … When I finally reappeared from my realm, I was sometimes even a little bit dazed.

I often spent my holidays together with my cousins and my grandmother in an old farmhouse. In the garden we built nests of moss and grass, in which we looked up into the sky lying on our backs and tried to recognize shapes and things in the summer clouds.

We woven wreaths from daisies, buttercups and dandelions. We were dwarves and elves.

Creative work brings me back to this – to my magical world. It grounds me and triggers in me a deep feeling of happiness, contentment and inner peace.

It does not matter if I try to express myself with brush, paint and canvas, pens and paper, scissors and fabric or my camera.

IT FILLS ME DEEPLY TO CREATE SOMETHING WITH MY HANDS AND TO SHARE IT WITH OTHERS.

THREE THINGS HAVE REMAINED FOR US FROM PARADISE:
THE STARS OF THE NIGHT
THE FLOWERS OF THE DAY
AND THE EYES OF THE CHILDREN
– Dante Alighieri –
